This policy covers the After Exposure app and website. The app lets you browse, cull, geotag, and transfer camera photos on iPhone, iPad, and Apple silicon Mac.
We, the developers of After Exposure, do not receive, view, or have access to your photos through the app. Photos are not uploaded to us. Processing happens on your device, and transfers go directly to the destinations you choose.
The app processes your photos on your device. It stores thumbnails, cached originals, culling decisions, recent sources and locations, destination settings, and queue and transfer history as needed for your workflow. The app does not route your photos through developer-operated servers.
When you transfer or share photos, the app sends the selected files to your chosen destination. Files may include capture information, ratings, labels, and location metadata, either embedded in the photo or in a sidecar file. What is included depends on the file, transfer options, and destination.
Adobe sign-in and Lightroom Cloud transfers communicate directly with Adobe. PhotoPrism and Immich connections communicate with the server you configure, which may be operated by you or another provider. These connections exchange authentication information, library information, and selected photos and metadata as needed to sign in, browse destinations, and transfer files.
Apple Photos access lets the app work with albums and save your selections. Your library may sync through iCloud Photos if you have enabled it. The system share sheet passes files to the app or service you select. Each destination handles the information it receives under its own settings and privacy practices.
Folder transfers write to a location you select through the system folder picker. The app can retain a system bookmark to access a saved destination. If the folder belongs to a cloud-storage provider, that provider handles storage and synchronization under its own privacy policy and your account settings. These files are not sent to us.
Map display and location search use Apple services. Searches and map requests send the information needed to provide those results to Apple. If you use the current-location feature, the app requests permission to access your device's location while in use. You can assign a location manually without granting current-location access.
The app also requests system permissions when needed for photo-library access or local-network connections. You can change these permissions in your device's Settings. Denying a permission may prevent the related feature from working.
Assigned coordinates and recent locations can be stored locally. Location metadata may travel with transferred or shared photos and be visible to their recipients.
Destination credentials and authentication tokens are stored in the system Keychain. Server addresses and other destination settings are stored locally. You control which accounts and servers the app connects to. Use trusted destinations and secure connections when available.
Local workflow records remain until you remove or reset them through the available app controls or remove the app's local data. Settings includes Clear Cache for cached photos; files involved in active transfers may be retained until those transfers finish. Clearing cached photos does not reset all workflow records.
You can remove configured destinations and sign out of connected accounts through the app. To revoke access at the service itself, use that service's account or API-key controls. Keychain items and device backups may persist separately from the app's ordinary local files.
Removing local data or a destination does not delete photos already transferred or shared. Manage those copies, their retention, and any synced backups in the receiving service.
The app does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. We do not sell your personal information or use your photos for advertising. Apple may provide diagnostics or beta feedback through its platform services according to your settings and Apple's privacy practices.
The website does not include advertising trackers or analytics scripts. Its images and demo videos are served as website files. The hosting provider may process ordinary request information, such as IP addresses, requested pages, and browser information, to deliver and protect the site.
If you email us about support, privacy, or the beta, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in that email. Contacting us does not give us access to your photos or library. We use that information to respond and handle your request. The beta email link opens your email app; it does not automatically subscribe you to a mailing list. Contact us to request deletion of correspondence; we may retain records needed for unresolved requests or legal obligations.
After Exposure is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it.
